Scientists Now Say Having A Cat Might Cause Mental Illness… And The Evidence Is Scary.

To such people who can get past their mood swings very well, cats are truly awesome as pets. It is sometimes like they can do no wrong. But as it actually turns out to be, there may even be a downside to owning these sweet and magical creatures…

And in fact it actually comes in the form of a very strange disease.

1. Scientists now seem to claim that there may be a downside to having cats around. It is known as T. gondii, and most cats are known to carry it.

2. T. gondii is a parasite present in the feces of most cats and it has the strange capability to alter the brains of certain animals.

3. Mice normally use their sense of smell so as to avoid urine of cats. But once they are infected with this T. gondii, their brain is so much altered that they start actually being strongly attracted to the scent of the cats – that inevitably does not end well for the mice.

4. Having the infected mouse be eaten by a cat is really very beneficial to the parasites, since the cats are the sole hosts which allow them to reproduce.

5. The scary fact is that these mind-altering parasites are even able to infect humans as well, and that is where things get even worse and really bizarre.

6. While T. gondii parasites cannot reproduce in any human host, they still have the ability to cause mild toxoplasmosis and can even possibly lead to the development of a type of similar mental illness.

7. In a recent study conducted in the journal Schizophrenia Research, scientists have found a link between people who had been actually exposed to cats from a very young age and the development of the mental illness later in their life.

8. This brand new study is the third to come to this same inference.

It now actually looks like your cats are literally driving you insane and crazy. Your feline friend might not actually seem so cute anymore, huh?

Understanding Cat Language : If Your Cat Acting Like this, They are Trying To Tell You SomeThing Very Important !

Like dogs, even cats are adorable. Though they are not that expressive about their feelings to their masters as compared to dogs, but still they love their owners immensely.
Actually the truth is that cats have very different, strange but cute ways of showing their affection, which is also sometimes considered offensive. But, as a cat owner, you should understand their language. So some of this is:

1. Sometimes a cat’s unending stare can be scary. But it needn’t be, as their eyes have adapted to blink less with evolution. More than that, a soft and steady gaze means that they feel comfortable and safe with you. A good sign.

Source

2. Though we never like it when cats bring dead animals in the house, but it indicates that they consider you a part of the family. They are probably trying to teach you how to catch prey.

Source

3. Cat rubbing their heads against you means that they are trying to make you one of them and are close to you, with their concentrated scent glands in their head and cheeks. Be happy, you’re family to her.

Source

4. There are many theories to the reasons why cats knead their paws. But, many of the researchers believe that it is just a quirky way of showing affection. They actually do not know that it hurts.

Source

5. Like most other creatures, cats never want to be vulnerable. But still if they roll over and show you their belly, it means that they have unwavering trust in you.

Source

6. A cat’s tale is an indicator of its mood. The higher it is, the happier she will be. Cats also twist their tails around you to show their affection for you.

Source

7. It may be annoying to you that your cat follows you everywhere, but this shows that she likes you and wants your company.

Source

8. Cats run between the legs of their owners to mark them with their scent.

9. If you find your cat purring, it shows that she is happy with what you are doing and you should continue to do that.

Source

10. Cats are commonly found nipping and nibbling, but it’s not at all aggressive. They do the same with their growing kittens to train them, and this just shows that they have the same amount of love and affection for you.

Nobody Will Adopt This Cat Because He Looks Like A Vampire… And He’s Desperate For A Home. Will You Adopt Him ??

If you think, vampires and cats share a lot of common traits. They both have a fierce affection for the color black, both are very active at nights and their eyes can be hypnotized. But what happens when a cat looks exactly like a vampire?

1. In England, Rory, a cat resembling a vampire, has been facing trouble with finding a permanent shelter, with its owners passing him on to the shelter.

Battersea Dogs & Cats home received Rory after his owners took their hands off him because he needed to get a tooth surgery as his teeth were unusually shaped.

2. This is a shelter cat, Rory, who was given the nickname “Dracula Cat”, resembles a vampire.

3. The fact that Rory needed a tooth surgery as his jaws were not closing properly because of his protruding teeth forced his owners to give him up.

4. After an emergency dental surgery was performed on Rory, he started resembling a vampire.

“Rory’s story is a good example why people should think carefully and count all responsibilities before adopting a cat, and then be ready to keep him permanently” says a Battersea official.I t is heard that Rory has an immense love for tuna, and is searching for a new home, most probably the one which appreciates his new look.

5. Rory’s teeth have made him furthermore adorable. Don’t you think this face is cute? Shouldn’t you adopt this homeless cat?

He Watched Helplessly As A Wild Wolf Approached His Dog. Then Something Incredible Happened.

Despite their magnificent beauty and enormous similarities with our favourite domesticated pet and man’s best friend dog, all sensible people know that wolves are not playful and are not to be messed with.

But in 2003, Nick Jans, an Alaskan wildlife photographer and his pet labrador, had a close encounter with a wolf when it entered the backyard-and began a kind of relationship that would defy popular beliefs and metamorphosize an entire community.

Jack and his dog were in the back porch of his house in Juneau when suddenly a wild wolf appeared. Unafraid, the dog immediately ran towards the uninvited guest to welcome him.

Nick was immobilized by the visual of them playing together. Being a wildlife photographer, Nick managed to capture this rare visual in his camera.

The wolf, which stayed in the area for years, was name Romeo by Nick and he spent most of his time documenting him.

Romeo, who became a Juneau fixture, was known for his playful attitude towards local dogs and was often found at Mendenhall glacier park, playing with them.

Residents, unsure at first, soon realised that Romeo had no intention of harming them.

Romeo, other than playing with dogs, played with humans too. Nick said in an interview that Romeo got them toys stashed by him to throw at him so that he could catch them, just like a dog.

“It was a perfect mix of our understanding and his and also the dogs. Three species were trying to get along harmoniously. And we also managed to do it.”

“Romeo became like an idol for the community and a figure representing the wild, during his six year stay in Juneau.”

Residents of Juneau held together a special memorial for Romeo after his passing away in 2010. They also got a special plaque crafted in his honour.

Isn’t it fascinating and inspiring to see three very different species live together in peace and harmony? It shows how the world can be a wonderful place for everyone if everyone lives with togetherness and harmony.

This story is a true inspiration for us. So, do share it with your Friends and family members.

Inspiring! Instead of flowers, rescue dogs held in this wedding. Read on to know why.

Well, there is no arguing that flowers form an integral part of any wedding. After all, they brighten up the environment, and most importantly, give the restless bridesmaids something to fidget. But this newlywed couple thinks differently. They held rescue dogs as wedding bouquets instead of the conventional flowers ( obviously except for the bouquet toss).

Bride Sarah Mullouk Crain and her husband Matt showcased their support for rescue dog in an unusual way, by switching flowers with five cute boxer-coonhounds named for first ladies Dolly, Elizabeth, Abigail, Martha and Louisa. Someone Dumped A Cat On The Street With His Litter Box

A 1-year old cat was seen this Wednesday in the streets of Brooklyn, NY with his belongings beside him. The cat seemed confused and lonely, and only a few belongings were present beside him including a cushion, litter box and a few other cat supplies. The cat was later named Nostrand based on the street where he was left. He ran away soon after he was seen, after getting scared by a street sweeper. So the local community decided to start searching for him together.

After searching for a few days, they found Nostrand hiding in the backyard. Flatbush Area Team for Cats (FAT Cats) posted on Facebook that they took him to a vet immediately, and screen for a microchip. Elizabeth Champ, one of the founders of FAT Cats, said that although there was no microchip on Nostrand, he was completely healthy, and was also very obedient during the examination. He didn’t create any chaos, even when his blood was drawn.

FAT Cats is taking good care of Nostrand. He will be neutered next, after which they will try to offer him to someone interested in adopting him, and that should be a problem at all since there have been several requests already.

1. The cat was seen in the streets of Brooklyn, “crying” next to his belongings.

2. The cat ran off after getting scared by a street sweeper and he was found once again after a few days of searching.

3. The cat was taken to a vet, and it seemed that he was completely healthy. Moreover, the cat was quite obedient and disciplined too.

4. There have been several requests already to adopt him, so hopefully, the kitty will get a new loving owner soon.

15 Cats With Googly Eyes Prove You Don’t Have To Be Purrfect To Be Loved

These cats with googly eyes show that they don’t have to be “purrfect” to receive love from others. In fact, these imperfections make them even more adorable and lovable, and these eyes seem to boost their cuteness.

In case you are wondering, the condition resulting in such googly eyes is known as strabismus. Cats who suffer from this condition have a tendency to suffer from diseases such as cancer or nerve inflammation later in life. You shouldn’t be concerned if your cat inherited this, but if it developed this condition recently, you should definitely consult a doctor as soon as possible.

The Nurses Can’t Stop Him And It’s Only When He Begins To Bleed That He Stops Wagging His Tail

#1

A goo number of animal rights activists in Brockton, Massachusetts were actually shocked. They had never ever seen a dog in such a wretched and poor condition, although he was still alive. The poor animal had been roaming about on the streets and that too with open wounds. It took some a lot of time to get close to the dog in order to examine him. It was then that the full extent of the horror that this dog had gone through became known.

#2

They thoroughly and carefully washed the dog and also his wounds. Throughout the examination, they had determined that he was probably approximately one year old. However, he only weighed about 15 lbs. He must have actually gone through a disastrous time with such weight and now he only needed some love and complete care.

#3

At first, he was actually very skeptical. However, quite surprisingly he became trusting quickly and only wanted to kiss his rescuers. This earned him the name, XO (hug and kiss). He very easily and quickly realized that he was then in a safe environment. He was very much excited due to the fact that he developed a condition called “Happy Tail” syndrome. In this a dog wags its tail continuously and uncontrollably and can even actually hurt itself in the process. He was so excited about the thing of being rescued that he always wagged his tail to such an extent that he soon started bleeding from it. Later carers also managed to get this back within control. XO soon got taken to Second Chance Rescue and here he is waiting to be adopted.

#4

Alyssa Ellman works there. She recalls that initially, she wanted to cry when she saw him. It broke her heart to see such a little guy in a devastated state. But XO is making a great progress indeed, his wounds are healing faster, he has put on extra 13 lbs. It is not late when he will be adopted by a loving and caring family. Although he still carries some traces of the past, one can clearly see that XO is a handsome little guy.

#5

However he will not be on his own again anymore. His care mama takes him to the office. There he can sleep in a big bed and gets pampered all day long. You can look how happy he is in his sleep.

#6

XO was really lucky to be first rescued and then brought back to his good health. Let us hope for the best and let’s have faith that now he will finally be able to enjoy many more beautiful dreams.

Corduroy has to stick to a special low-protein diet to protect his kidneys, but even then he is in good health. Reed said, “I think that my decision not to declaw him and allow him to go outdoors is the secret to his long life. With his claws, he could easily defend himself, and also hunt prey which kept his mind healthy and his body in proper shape.Although he still catches critters, recently his performance has dropped quite a bit, thankfully.”

Reed added, “I am really honoured to have him in my life, I can’t imagine my life without him.He has been a wonderful friend and hopefully he will stay my friend and lead a happy life for several years in the future.”

2. BULL TERRIER

The stocky fighter breed was initially created in the early 1800s. They were created with the combination of old English Terrier and Bulldog. 3. DACHSHUND

The Dachshunds were developed in Germany over 400 years ago. This particular dog once had a properly functioning leg with a proper neck as its size. Well, but human beings love to experiment a lot! Now, a well modified version of St. Bernard breed possesses a thicker fur than their previous ancestors. They have wider skulls and a very sharp angle between the nose and the foreheads. They are very much prone to ectropion, entropion, hemophilia, Stockard’s paralysis, and even osteosarcoma.
