Most Paused Movie Moments Of All Time

Do you enjoy watching movies at home or in the theater? While both provide a different kind of experience, for me it’s always going to be the former. Enjoying a movie in your home in your comfortable position eating whatever you want has got to be better than watching it in a theater. Besides if you miss any scene, you can always rewind and see it again.

Nowadays, you can watch new movies on your computer via streaming without even having to rent any DVDs. And you can watch them anytime you want, and pause and play any scene as many times as you wish.

Let’s take a look at the top 14 movie moments which you simply cannot continue watching without pausing at least a couple of times.

1. Psycho (1960)

Alfred Hitchcock was considered by many to be the master of suspense and his movie “Psycho” is regarded as one of his best works ever. The movies had several thrilling scenes, but the most thrilling one was when Norman Bates got arrested. A human skull was present in place of his face as soon as the camera was pointed towards him. You just can’t continue watching the movie without pausing a few times during this scene.

2. Scanners (1981)

This film by David Cronenberg is an all time classic. The scene where the psychic powers emerged was probably the most important part of the movie. Michael Ironside shows a glimpse of his psychic powers in one of these scenes by exploding the head of a person. Everything happens so fast that we need to look at it a few more times to understand what happened.

3. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Jessica Rabbit was probably one of the most sexual characters in the history of cartoon and in one of the scenes, she went full commando. But as you know she doesn’t exist in real life!

4. Total Recall (1990)

Arnold Schwarzenegger was the star of this movie – his character was brutal, and he did full justice to this cruel and violent character. However, the most surprising scene was probably that of a three-breasted woman. I am sure everyone who has watched this movie has paused a few times to look at those closely.

5. Basic Instinct (1992)

T0pless scenes were in almost every movie around that time, but this movie broke all barriers. Sharon Stone had her legendary scene in this film, when she kept her legs crossed during interrogation. And as you can realize a lot more was shown than just her undergarments.

6. Wild Things (1998)

Neve Campbell had a wild scene in the 1998 movie, Wild Things when she and Denise Richards kissed. I am sure you will take a second glance at this scene.

7. Fight Club (1999)

I think almost every adult has seen this excellent movie. Like the other ones above, this one doesn’t have any pornographic scene. However, you will be forced to pause and play throughout the film, because the entire movie is so confusing. And the twist that comes at the end of the movie makes it an all time classic.

8. She’s the Man (2006)

Amanda Bynes is the female lead of this movie, and when she lifts her shirt to show other boys that she is a female, I am sure even the audience, especially teenagers, were hoping for some “real” proof. That is why this movie became so popular among teenagers all over the world.

9. Iron Man (2008)

Iron Man came out in 2008, and at that time, we had no idea that there is going to be an Avengers movie. But subtle hints were present throughout the film. Look at this picture taken from one of the scenes of the first Iron Man movie. Can you see the shield of Captain America? However, it was just a prototype at that moment.

10. Burn After Reading (2008)

This movie by the Coen brothers had some massive shocks. And it doesn’t come as a surprise because this duo is well known for their violent and action scenes. In one of the scenes, Brad Pitt is in the closet, when he gets shot in just a fraction of a second. The whole thing occurred so fast that you would probably have to rewind and play it again to understand what happened.

11. Cabin in the Woods (2012)

If you have seen this movie, you probably remember this scene, where the scientists were discussing how to end the lives of the heroes. In the background, there was a white board with names of all kinds of monsters created by these scientists. I am sure many of us have replayed and paused that scene several times to figure out whether we have heard of some of those names.

12. Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

This movie made Margot Robbie one of the sex icons of this modern generation. And in this scene where she spreads her legs, we all wanted to see what Leo was witnessing. So don’t say that you never replayed that scene! That would be a lie.

13. Man of Steel (2013)

The main reason why this movie is present here is that it dropped a few hints of Batman Vs Superman in the future. In this picture, you can see that the satellite Superman chose while fighting in outer space belonged to Wayne Enterprises.

14. Jurassic World (2015)

This one is not like the others, cause this one is amusing! Remember the scene where the pterodactyls were attacking the visitors in the park? Well, there we find Jimmy Buffet still having his food while searching for a shaker of salt! Don’t believe us? Watch the movie again and look carefully this time.

These were the top 14 movie moments which one simply cannot watch without pausing. Let us know which one is your favorite in the comments below. Hopefully, you enjoyed this article and don’t forget to share this article with your friends and family.

8 Weird Things We Spotted In The Backgrounds Of Movies

1.  “Despicable Me”

“Despicable Me” featured a gag that was actually aimed at adults.
Look, we hate Minions, but it is hilarious that the creators of “Despicable Me” had just slipped in a quick make out joke in one of the shots to the Minion crowd.

2. “Jurassic Park”

This “Jurassic Park” blooper is really very hard to miss after you have actually seen it.
Look over the T. Rex’s head; there is a sprinkler. Apparently, the cameraman panned a little too far up.

3. “The Goofy Movie”

“The Goofy Movie” was made by Disney.
It makes actual sense that they did not include a nod to one of their most famous characters. The dog face is a nice touch.

4. “Return of the Jedi.”

Boba Fett flies past Luke’s fight scene in “Return of the Jedi.”
Of course, we were too focused on Luke to notice. It is actually hilarious, though; Fett’s out of control, and he looks like a rag doll. Also, Luke clearly did not kick that guy.

5. “Mr. Nanny,”

In this scene from “Mr. Nanny,” something is, uh, happening.
Apparently, the guy in the background needs to dispose of a dog and cannot think of any other way. We have no idea why this actually happened

6. “I Am Legend,”

. In “I Am Legend,” there is an ad for “Batman Vs. Superman” in the background.
“I Am Legend” came out quite a long time before “Batman Vs. Superman” was even announced. Of course, DC has always been talking about making the movie for quite a while, so it’s not too crazy.

7. “Better Off Ted.”

Alright, this is from a TV show, not a movie.
It is from “Better Off Ted.” Fans of “Doctor Who” will notice the Dalek in the background; it is a neat nod to the long-running British sci-fi show.

8. “Titanic.”

. Look closely when Rose swings the ax in “Titanic.”
Yeah, her aim is really very awful. In real life, Jack would be missing a hand.

The Amazing History Of Tom and Jerry Cartoon That Will Leave You Baffled

Tom and Jerry is considered to be one of the most successful cartoon series of all times. Almost everyone has seen Tom and Jerry and it has definitely formed an important part of our lives. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are the creators of this popular cartoon series. How much do you actually know about Tom and Jerry? If you think you know everything, then you probably need to reconsider that. There is an interesting story about how Tom and Jerry came into origin. Read on to know more.

So this is how the popular comic series, Tom and Jerry, began.

Hanna noticed a cat chasing a mouse in the kitchen one day. There was nothing unique about it, I am sure everyone has noticed such an incident at least once. However, Hanna had an idea, he decided to create a cartoon series based on this.
He wrote the script in 1932 when he used to work for a magazine.

Here’s an interesting fact – this concept of a comic series based on cat and mouse was not really new. Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat, Ignatz the Cat etc. all were realized before Tom and Jerry and were already extremely popular. So he had to face a lot of criticism even at beginning of the series.

However, Hanna and Barbera were not deterred, they proceeded to create the first theme in 1937. However, it was named “Pussy gets the Boot”, and not Tom and Jerry. The cat and mouse were named Jasper and Jinx respectively in that show.
It became a huge success, and they were nominated for Oscar. MGM decided to adopt this show and thus was born Tom and Jerry.

Here’s another interesting fact about our favourite show –

Creating cartoons during those days was extremely difficult and require intensive work. One episode of Tom and Jerry which spanned for 5 minutes only at 24 frames per second, needed around 7,200 pictures, and they had to be drawn by hand. Yes, you read that right, they had to draw 7200 pictures by hand for a simple 5-minute show! Fascinating, isn’t it?

15 profoundly important things we learned from Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh is an extremely popular character not only among children but also among adults and I am pretty sure that almost everyone knows who the character is. However, we only think of it as an animated character for children and never really pay any serious attention to it. This is a big mistake, since one can learn a lot from the innocent Pooh and his simplicity.

This article consists of the top 20 pearls of wisdom we have learnt from Pooh since our childhood.

1

Piglet: ’’How do you spell ’love’?’’ Pooh: ’’You don’t spell it…you feel it.’’

2

’’You are braver than you believe. Stronger than you seem. And smarter than you think.’’

3

’’The things that make me different are the things that make me.’’

4

’’If the person you are talking to does not appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in this ear.’’

5

’’If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.’’

6

’’Sometimes the smallest things take the most room in your heart.’’

7

’’As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.’’

8

’’Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.’’

9

’’Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.’’

10

’’If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.’’

11

’’Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.’’

12

’’I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.’’

13

’’You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.’’

14

’’Promise me you’ll never forget me because if I thought you would, I’d never leave.’’

15

’’A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.’’

10 Scary Movies Based On True Stories

Most people will probably think they already know the names of the movies that are present in this list. After all, everyone knows that exorcisms occur in real life, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise occurred due to the actions of a serial killer and some people get driven to madness by being haunted in their own homes. But there are several other facts which very few people know about. These include the supernatural murderers like Michael Myers, and weird experiments run by mad scientist among other strange facts.

To be honest, the world is filled with tons of such strange and weird facts. Hence, writers and directors can just modify those stories a bit and claim that they are based on true events. As an example, consider this year’s movie “The Forest”. The movie is based on Suicide Woods in Japan where a lot of people have committed suicide. The truth is there are no spirits or ghosts in those woods, but the fact that people go to the woods to end themselves makes it a lucrative plot for a movie.

The movies in this list are based on completely true events which have been verified and there is evidence backing them up. So check these top 10 movies below.

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984-2010)

18 Laotian refugees passed away in their sleep, while experiencing nightmares in 1981 in Atlanta. The cause of death is still unknown. Dr. Baron, a renowned epidemiologist at the Center for Disease Control, reported that nightmares were probably the cause of death since these men and women were otherwise completely healthy. Later, “possible cardiac arrhythmia”, an irregular heartbeat, was declared the cause which is actually common during nightmares.

Similar events have happened in Asia earlier as well. Now whether these nightmares were really the cause like in the movie will probably remain a mystery forever.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984-2010)

2. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)

One of the best movies based on exorcism, the movie is based on the true story of Anneliese Michel. Her parents were charged with negligent homicide. Two clergymen were also involved who believed in exorcism over medical treatment.

Anneliese thought she was possessed and decided to not eat in 67 rituals which took place over a time period of 10 months. Ultimately, malnutrition and dehydration caused pneumonia, finally killing her.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994)

This particular movie was probably inspired by the true story of “The Bloody Benders”. They used to bury their victims at the back of their home while they worked at a general store in front. What’s disappointing is that they were never arrested; they always managed to escape from the police. Fortunately, no descendant of the Bender family is alive today.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation

4. Ringu (1998)/The Ring (2002)

Anyone who has seen the movie knows that there is a video tape which can kill people if they see it. Although that isn’t true, the fact that a girl with long curly hair comes out from the TV screen and kills people is definitely true.

This is based on Mifune Chizuko, who commited suicide in 1910. A professor misguided her along with another girl when he claimed to develop their mentalist skills. When Chizuko failed to show her psychic skills in front of an audience, she decided to take her life from humiliation.

Ringu (1998)/The Ring (2002

5. Finale (2009)

We all know that the suicide of a family member can be tough to deal with. This movie shows what happens when one fails to do that and gradually becomes mad. In fact, this is actually a true story of the director John Michael Elfers. His brother committed suicide when he was young and his mother couldn’t accept it. She used to think that this was the work of an evil group. The Finale is his attempt to show the incident through his mother’s eyes and leave the audience to decide who is correct.

Finale

6. Witchfinder General (1968)

This movie is based on a man named Matthew Hopkins who used to live in England during the 17th Century. During that time, witch hunting was a common practice in England. He declared himself to be a Witch finder General.

He had a lot of financial support so no one could stand against him. His methods of torture were supposedly crueler than some of the most advanced methods of interrogation in today’s world. According to some rumors, some person killed him using his very own methods of torture.

Witchfinder General

7. Primeval (2007)

Gustave is the name of a crocodile, which is even more ferocious than the shark shown in Jaws. People near the Ruzizi River in Burundi were terrified of this creature for decades. In fact, this crocodile is still alive and was the primary source of inspiration behind the movie “Primeval”.

8. Grimm Love (2006)

This movie is a true story, based on a man named Armin Meiwes who used to live in Germany. He placed an ad in 2001 asking for someone to give him his or her flesh since he was interested to give a shot at cannibalism. And surprisingly, someone did reply and volunteer to do so. Meiwes spent 10 month consuming that person’s flesh and was later arrested. He is now serving a life sentence.

9. The Experiment (2010)

A Stanford Prison experiment is the basis of this movie. Philip Zimbardo, a famous psychologist, wanted to see the effects of non-criminals being put in prisons. So they conducted an experiment where some people became prison guards while others were prisoners.

The experiment got out of control as everyone took their roles seriously – guards used to abuse prisoners while they couldn’t handle the stress. They soon stopped it and fortunately, no one was hurt, contrary to what was shown in the movie.

10. The Human Centipede I–III (2009-2015)
