Everyone knows that addition of grandchildren provides joy to the entire family, more so to the grandparents. However, recent studies show that grandparents have a reduced chance of getting affected by Alzheimer’s if they spend more time with their grandchildren. The North American Menopause society released this study recently. They studied 120 grandparents from all over Australia, and were surprised to discover that grandparents who used to babysit their grandchildren got higher score on various cognitive tests. However, they also discovered that results started to decline if babysitting was done in excess. Five days per week is supposed to be excessive, so two to three days leads to best results.Source[adinserter block=”16″]

The reason behind these results is that the human mind gets happier if we are able to interact with other human beings. Obviously, babysitting grandchildren leads to joy and pleasure in the lives of grandparents. More importantly, they feel that they have a purpose in their lives.
