The study was performed on approximately hundred broiler chickens. These chickens were treated with 3-Nitro and hence they had inorganic arsenic in excess levels in their livers. However, those chickens which were not treated with that drug were completely free of arsenic.

Pfizer was quick to respond after this incident and claimed that they will no longer allow the sale of the drug after July. In that case, chicken producers have to look for other types of treatment.

The FDA has stated that levels of arsenic chicken will be regulated from now on, and it is safe to have chicken.
