The used condom challenge has taken teenagers all over the world by storm. After the “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge”, teenagers thought that they too have found a similar challenge which has been specially created for teens.
It is common sense that the same condom should be never be used twice, so obviously this challenge is dangerous and can give rise to STD(Sexually transmitted disease) in many participants.

This is exactly what happened to Hector Cruz, a 17 year old teen who attempted this crazy challenge. He found a used condom from his father’s bedroom and used it. As a result, he got affected by herpes. And several incidents of similar nature have occurred before as well.The most horrifying among them is the death of Emily Stone, a 17 year old girl who took part in this “Condom Challenge”.

This begs the question – why are these teens doing this? Aren’t they aware of the repercussions that they might face?
Michelle Tyson, who is a clinical professor of psychology at the Dallas M&P institute and also a psychologist thinks she might have the answer. According to her, teens are going through the adolescent period during which they believe that they can do anything they wish and nothing will come in their way. Hence, they don’t even think twice before attempting such a disgusting task.

Hector Cruz has learnt his lesson, and has even begun a campaign in order to spread the ill effects of using old condoms, and is advising others not to trust everything they see on the Internet.
