Burger King Admits That Their Burgers Contain Horsemeat

Burger King is one of the most popular American chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. Their headquarters are located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and the United States. Several accusations were thrown against Burger King in 2015 regarding what ingredients were being added to their burgers, especially in the UK. Although the company claimed these were nothing but lies at that time, recently they have accepted that they add horsemeat in their burgers.

There are more than 500 Burger King outlets in the UK alone. Sometimes, their demands are so high that they have to ship tens of thousands of burgers from Germany and Italy. The company has also published an apology for the customers.

1. Burger King Vs McDonalds.

Burger King and McDonalds currently rule the entire burger industry in the whole world. McDonald’s reply to Burger King’s popular whopper sandwich is the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder. These two are the best selling burgers till now.

2. The 2015 allegations!

Several allegations were raised in 2015 regarding the ingredients that are added to these burgers. They claim that their burgers contain 100% beef meat, but is that really true?

3. The worst nightmare!

They completely denied, and said these were all lies for two weeks. But finally they had to admit the truth; their burgers do contain horse meat.

4. The main problem

Silvercrest, an Irish-based processing firm, which is the part of ABP food groups is responsible for producing these burgers. They are also behind the production of fetid burgers for the Co-op, Tesco, Asda, and others.

5. The announcement!

Burger King announced that they found trace levels of equine DNA in 4 samples collected from the Silvercrest plant. It has been found out that Silvercrest imported beef from a non-approved supplier in Poland, even though they promised 100% British and Irish beef. Hence, they have terminated their contract since its a clear violation of their rules.

6. The trust issues

Burger King obviously attempted to keep this news away from the public, but in today’s world, that is close to impossible. Now that the public knows the truth, they will have a hard time trusting this company.

7. The contamination scandal

You would be shocked to know that Burger King is only one of the many companies who indulge in such practices. For example, e-cigarette fillers actually are made from nuggers along with foamed plastic, croutons and french toast and maltodextrin.

8. The Vice President’s apology

Diego Beamonte, the vice president of Burger King apologised to the public and said that they are really shocked and troubled after this discovery. They always try to provide the customers 100% beef burgers. Unfortunately, they have failed to do so, due to their suppliers. Hence, from now on, they will take more precautionary measures to ensure that this doesn’t happen again in future.
