Despite being technologically advanced, this world still hasn’t learnt how to respect women, hence several countries are still extremely dangerous for women. Some of the major crimes that are committed against women include discrimination against women, rape, female foeticide and domestic violence. These problems mostly occur in countries in Asia and Africa. Several lawyer firms have fought to bring justice as well, on the contrary, there are many fighting for the other side as well.
11. Afghanistan
Afghanistan is in a terrible condition at the moment, especially for women. You will be surprised to know that more than 87% of the female population in Afghanistan is illiterate. Even in this modern age, marriage occurs when girls haven’t yet become adults. This has resulted in mortality ratio of 400 in 100,000.In fact, reports of violence and rape are reported regularly in the country.
10. The Democratic Republic of Congo
Discrimination against women and domestic violence occur frequently in Congo. According to a report published in the American Journal of Public Health, approximately 1,150 women are subjected to sexual harassment daily.

9. India
Crimes such as child marriage, gang rape have been going on for a long time in India. Female infanticide is another major problem in the country. According to a recent report, number of female infanticide case reported in the past 30 years exceed 50 million.
8. Somalia
Somalia is a country in Africa, which is known throughout the world for the various crimes committed in the country. Maternal mortality, child marriage and sexual harassment are the major problems that women living in the country have to face everyday. In fact, majority of the female population has to go through genital mutilation even before they cross the age of 11.

7. Colombia
Colombia is a country which has no order. What is worse is the fact that victims aren’t given proper justice that they deserve, while the criminals are free to roam about. They aren’t even put in jail for their crimes. A report published by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Science shows that Colombia ranks the highest in terms of number of gender-based violence cases. However, things have started to improve and a few organisations have cropped up who try to help these victims as much as they can. 
6. Egypt
Women living in Egypt have to go various difficult conditions daily, since the judicial system is completely biased. While they often fact domestic violence, they aren’t provided any rights including child custody, divorce etc-

5. Mexico
Mexico is one of the few countries which doesn’t have any laws which provide justice to women when they are subjected to domestic violence and sexual harassment. In fact, women are discouraged to report such cases to the police since this brings a lot of disrespect to the family. 
4. Brazil
Brazil can be considered to be one of the worst countries for a woman to live in. According to a recent report, every 15 seconds, one Brazilian woman is harassed and sometimes even murdered. Making things worse is the fact that unless a woman’s health is in great danger, abortion is illegal in the country. If they don’t follow this law, they might have to face upto 3 years of prison time.

3. Pakistan
Women in Pakistan often have to face various malpractices such as acid bombs, domestic violence, child marriage etc. In fact, this country ranks first in terms of dowry murder and child marriage.
2. Thailand
We all are aware of the fact that Thailand is a brilliant tourist spot, however, the native women of the country regularly face sexual harassment. Domestic Violence Information Centre of Thailand believes that the main reason behind the rising discrimination against women is the excess consumption of liquor in the country.
